Lukas is also fond of the peace sign. I have tried without success to snap a picture of him giving the peace sign several times, but you'll just have to take my word for it I guess. It is really funny to watch- he will have a toy in one hand and will absent-mindedly make a peace sign with the other while he is playing!
The weekend before last, I had to go to Orlando for work. Due to some complicated circumstances, it was easier to just bring Lukas with me to hang out with Grammy and Pappy then it was to arrange child care at home. So off we went on our first solo trip! We did well, and Lukas was, in fact, my golden ticket at the airport. When I arrived at the airport on the first Sunday of spring break, the security line wrapped around baggage claim. Twice. Having a child in a stroller, however, allows you to go in the special assistance line. All you need to know is that "special assistance" = FRONT OF THE LINE BABY! Plus they actually help you with the stroller and everything. We made it though security, but the plane was late by a few hours. Lukas made friends in the airport and on the plane, but when we finally got to Orlando, my patience was running thin. The rental car took forever, I had to install the car seat, it was pouring rain, etc. We finally made it to my grandparents house for a quick visit. Mama was down on the floor with Lukas and having a great time!
Then we went to Grammy & Pappy's house and Lukas got to hang out with Cousin Kate. Check out Lukas and Kate kissing (I'm sure they'll be embarrassed of these photos when they are older).

The other drama in our house has been the replacement of our shower. We found out that our builder (shockingly!) did a bad job on our shower the first time around, so we had to replace it. It is almost done and looks very sharp. And we are going to try to shake down Pulte for some money with our sweet photographic evidence of their shoddy workmanship!
Lukas also had an ear infection last weekend, which is about the only thing that can turn our normally happy, smiley baby into a clingy, crying baby. Poor little guy! He is doing better now- we are hoping that the earaches end pretty soon.
Finally, a very happy birthday goes out to Scott. To you it's tax day. To Scott, it's "32??? Why God why???" Haha. Scott had an ok birthday but is planning to have a "do-over" in a few weeks so that there is more time to celebrate.
Scott's Birthday Playlist:
1) Just Like Heaven (The Cure)
2) Always Love (Nada Surf)
3) Playa's Holiday (Too Short)
4) Back When (Tim McGraw)
5) Superman's Song (Crash Test Dummies)
